TOWN OF McCANDLESS LIONS CLUB was originally charted as the McCandless Township Lions Club.  The Club was sponsored by the Perry Highway Lions Club, and received its Charter from District Governor Robert H. Chambers, on April 25, 1950.

The first president was Edward Myers, and the first Secretary was H. Harper Huston.

The major project of the Club for many years was the North Hills Passavant Hospital.

In 1950 the Club had 71 members.  Lion John W. Soers served on several Cabinets.

The Club changed its name and is presently known as the Northern Allegheny Lions Club.
