MOUNT LEBANON LIONS CLUB was sponsored by the Wilkinsburg Lions Club, and received its charter from District Governor Dr. Arthur S. Haines of that Club, on April 10, 1929. 

Lion Ira Shaffer was the Charter President and Lion Haines was the first Secretary.  Lion Edwin D. Goldsmith served as District Governor during the year 1937-38.  Other members of this Club who served the District include Lion John C. Edmundson with more that 40 years of Perfect Attendance.  Lion John carried his 100% Pins with him in a fancy pocket case, and would display them on any occasion.  Lion Al Harsch served as Deputy District Governor for several years.  Lion W. J. Goey seved as Zone Chairman. 

The Mount Lebanon Lions Club was the principal sponsor of the Mount Lebanon Public Library, and has been a project of the Club for many years.  The peak membership of the Club was in the middle 40’s with 65 members.

The club lost its charter in the late 70s and was reformed in 1989.
